Well, the other day I decided to re-read my Kenny Werner book, "Effortless Mastery; Liberating the Master Musician Within."

Man, is this a good book! I think is a must read for teachers (of ANY subject) and students (of ANY subject!) alike. Wener has produeced a very thoughtful and clear treatise on what is is to be a learner as well as an expressor/creator (jazz musician).

For those of you who don't know this book, it has NOTHING to do with methods or instrumental technique. It is completely about the mental game of making music. This should be on your shelf right next to "Zen and the Art of Archery" and "The Inner Game of Tennis."

It is published by the Jamey Aebersold corporation.

    Check it out!

    hi nick,

it is in fact a great book - it inspired me to practice harder and smarter and to really enjoy the many aspects of making music.
