Ditto, enjoy watching Lawerence Welk every Sat. Evening. Enjoy watching Johnny Zell on lead Trumpet, all the musicians and singers are top notch.

P.S.,then on to the Sherlock Holmes series/Putting on Apperances and the Summer Wine T.V. series. Lots of laughs.

Do you think Zell's horn is worth what they are asking on eBay?

What model horn is it? I was told, when I posted his site a couple years back, he originally was playing a Callicchio model Trumpet on the L.W. show. But maybe now uses a Bach Trumpet. Am no expert about Johnny Zell, but he is a very good classical trained Trumpet player.

Holds his horn correctly and breathes so effortlessly through his horn. Very professional player

Checked out that Besson Meha Trumpet on E-Bay. Took a quick look at it, was suppose to have been played by Johnny Zell. That horn has at least four patches and the Besson Specialist that worked on it, has the third slide put on upside down. At least that is the way it looks to me.

The horn being played by Mr Zell on the You tube does not appear to be a Besson Meha Trumpet. That E-Bay Horn is way over priced. May be more red rot some place else. Do not care for any horn that has patches on it. No matter who played it or owned it.

I always thought it was good forum etiquette to provide a link when commenting on any particular performance. At least a reference of some sort so that other readers knew what the heck an OP was talking about. Clairvoyance was never my strong suite. Thanks. :-)

(The last time I saw Welk on a Saturday evening was with my Grandma in 1958.)
