    To clarify:

    They still show reruns of old Lawrence Welk clips on PBS.

    I don't know if they show any particular time or not. I absolutely HATE the singing arrangements and vocals... they remind me of guys who aren't quite good enough to make it on Broadway but are considered "wonderful" by people at their church. Yes, the band arrangements are waaaay square, but the PLAYERS are excellent. The style bothers me, and I dislike accordions and electronic organs intensely (unless it's a Hammond with a Leslie tone cabinet.)

    I find myself watching it for longer periods than I ever did when I was young, and LW was alive, in appreciation of the musicians.

    Yes, I was scornful of the man when I was younger. Anyone who didn't have gray hair was, as I recall.

    That's the way it was in the late '60's/early '70's:dontknow:

    Myself, I like to listen to the Big Bands, and, if PBS runs some of their "My Memories" specials, I do watch.:oops:
