How hard wearing is the laquer used on Lawlers especially the satin/scratched look?

    Lawler Lacquer

As for how the Lawler lacquer holds up thru the years, I can't comment on that, but I assume it is as good as any other lacquer since Roy is a craftsman and does things right. But I will warn you of something. I own a Lawler TL6L-1 in the Brushed Satin finish. I made the big mistake of cleaning it in very hot water. Since I always owned silver plated horns and always gave them baths in hot-ish water, I didn't know you are NOT supposed to put Lacqered horns in hot water (ANY brand) since it can remove the Lacquer. Well, it ruined the finish and I have to have it re-lacquered. I just wanted to pass that on to you so you don't make the same mistake as I did. You can see the horn on my site Before I messed up the lacquer.
