Largest Trumpet Section? Need help!

    Manny I played it in Philly, at the Dell (outside). It must have been the same year. I think it was 76, but it could have been 77.

    Was I there? The 70s are a bit blurred.......well, I was having fun :cool: I did quite a bit of work for Arthur Aarons in those days. C.R.S.

    In part 2 of Havergal Brian's Symphony No. 1 there are 2 Eb Cornets, 4 F Trumpets, 1 Bass trumpet and 4 off stage Groups that have 2 Trumpets in each - so 15 Trumpet/Cornets. There are 48 brass parts in that piece!!! Full orchestra listing is here

    I did play it at Carnegie with Philly in Dec 1977 so it must have been 76 with La Scala. Or maybe 75? I don't think so. In NY I was playing upstairs in a box right off stage. A little old lady got in my way so I had a hard time emptying my spit valve. I could have dumped it right in her blue hair.
