I stopped playing the trumpet when I was 17 and picked it up again at 47. I'm in my second year now and play in several local amateur bands.

When I restarted, I found that my learning curve was accelerated by my past experience and that because of this I enjoyed it more.
When I was a kid I was under pressure to get better, now it doesn't matter and because of that I'm really into what I'm doing.
I look forward to playing instead of finding reasons not to.

As we mature... we learn what it means to be "kidding" around. Great post and hang in there 'caus at my age looking upon your age... you're still a kid... no kidding.
