I stopped playing the trumpet when I was 17 and picked it up again at 47. I'm in my second year now and play in several local amateur bands. When I restarted, I found that my learning curve was accelerated by my past experience and that because of this I enjoyed it more. When I was a kid I was under pressure to get better, now it doesn't matter and because of that I'm really into what I'm doing. I look forward to playing instead of finding reasons not to.
