    Hey guys,

Here's a question I pose: Do you all ever listen to a good player right before you start playing, even during your practice?

I am noticing it affects my playing positively: my brain seems to want to emulate what I hear. It's making me feel like I'm working more towards what I need. I actually think I am going to incorporate youtube into my routine at home now, lol.

Listening to some Adam Rapa testing a Monette before I read some fake book. :-)

before, during and after. really helps with your concept of sound and musicality. For phrasing I like to listen to stringplayers and vocalist. actually any top player is good.
