That dude is awesome..........
once again, I don't have to know the technical ins and outs of the physics to actually get some sweet sound out of the horn. I don't disagree with anyone here. Just marvel at the technical knowledge.
There are players who do very well and don't understand the logistics of it all.
Whenever Ted Williams played in the all-star game with Mickey Mantle, he would talk hitting to the Mick ad infinitum. In his book, Mickey said it used to take him two weeks to get back to his natural hitting groove because of all the information Ted Williams filled his head with!
When a set of coordinated lip meshes meshes with the mouthpiece while controlling the flow or air through particularly supple upper lip tissue?
Then a good musical sound must result. Its not exactly a major breakthrough. Is just an inevitable circumstance of applied patient practice. Now had he mentioned that he's moved his chops into such and such a position and was suddenly able to blow three and a 1/2 octave arpeggios at loud volume?
Yeah. that would qualify as a major breakthrough...
Physics? Ah, voodoo. Do you really think a table is made up of billions of atoms - just too small to be seen? Next they will be trying to convince us music is just a bunch of theoretical sound waves.
That's what he was trying to do. Kinda like telling a player you found a mpc that gets you to DHC!!! Tell him 3 weeks before festival!!!
