I can think of a couple of conductors that would qualify.

If you are down on choral conducting, buy this album:

Amazon.com: Stamning: Real Group & Eric Ericson: Music

There simply is not a more heavanly recording on earth. It has held on to the "my favorite cd" for at least the last 10 years.

The funeral of Maurice André will take place next thursday at 10:30 am (French time) in St. John the Baptist cathedral in Alès, his hometown. Interment will take place in private. Let us spare a thought for him at that time.

Really?! Have it marked. What sort of music do they sing Robin?

I am not down on choral conducting, but I have played with choral conductors who leave their downbeat to the orchestra's imagination! Sorry for going off topic.

I grew up listening to Maurice Andre as my idol. I have many records of him playing and no CDs. That's how far back I started buying his recordings, probably around 1970.

This one can only be described as beautiful music. 22 Scandinavian folk tunes in masterful classical arrangements, sung by IMHO THE leading A Capella group in the world. They normally sing jazz but really have no boundries.

So sad. I had the great pleasure to hear him twice. To me absolutely the best classical trumpeter ever. RIP indeed.

Sad. Only listened to his music when I was very young (before I was infected with jazz fever), but never forgot the pure tone, even on the poor audio equipment back then.
