Medical FAQs for Trumpet Players

    I am a trumpet player who has had medical issues related to trumpet playing, and I think Dr. Dave's articles are interesting to read.

    I have cysts on my lower lip where my mouthpiece sits, and I have had surgery to remove them, but they keep coming back. Knowing about issues that can affect your playing career is a good thing, even if they are relatively uncommon.

    It is sad that Dr. Dave is not posting here anymore. His information is far more informative than 75% of the stuff posted on this website, considering so many people just post one liners and emoticons or +1's.

    I picked the option that affords the ability to see the most cases possible... Specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics.. that opens all diagnostic options from cradle to grave. How do you think I can afford to buy a Harrelson trumpet?

    I of course have stuck to my dreams am consequently pretty much broke and rely on second hand and chinese (and at the moment happier than I have ever been)
