40+ resident of Fraser. My wife and I both played in the band and sang in the choir while we were in school. My kids also went to Fraser and had Mr. Vechinski for an instructor. Now, his kids are going to Utica where I live.

My understanding is that he is a pretty good teacher.

Lansing, Flint Area, now Prudenville (Houghton Lake) Born in Lansing and went to school there, Eastern HS, then majored in music at Michigan State. spent most of my time living in Flushing or Clio. Had a cabin in Houghton Lake for years and finally moved there. Now I travel a LOT to do music but I wouldn't trade that for anything. ya gotta love it.

And lest we not forget wonderful Michigan Summers riding the Boblo boat to Boblo Island eh?

    How I miss those days.....

Georgia's on my mind; but Michigan will always have my heart!

    John,

I played in the band on one of those two boats!

    The Columbia.

Bob-Lo Island is now a very up-scale condo and custom home private island.

    Too Cool Chuck!

Yeah I was aware of Boblo's demise... I have a friend who is a private pilot and has his own airplane. He hangers it at Grosse Isle. I can remember in 1994 flying over what was left of Boblo and watching them demolish it to make way for those with cash and nothing better to do with it.

How I enjoyed that island in my youth!

The boat ride was not bad for us we caught it out of Wyandotte, and Gibraltar so it was like 1/2 an hour or so if memory serves correct.

I never caught it from the Downtown dock.
