I ordered some mouthpiece spray but it hasn't arrived yet. Is there another way to clean MPs after rehersals or should I just wait until I get home and wash them?

If you dont lend your mp to other people, a disinfectant is not necessary, just run the hot tap over the piece and brush out the backbore once a week.

The molecular layer of silver oxide that forms on the surface is quite an effective bacteriacide.

    Regards, Stuart.

I rinse my mp with boiling hot water once a day. It seems to scare off the bugs very well (-:

That´s all it takes. The horn will still be
full of bugs, but as long as it´s your own . . .

You can also rinse your mouth and throat with
vodka before playing! Just be careful not to swallow . . .

Before I play my trumpet, I wash the mouthpiece with disinfectant hand soap and water.. DO it everytime you play. That's all you ever need to do. Spray is convenient but not neccessary.

mouth wash, will kill germs, and make the mouthpiece smell fresh. Also, best to clean the inside of your horn. As always; jack
