I have a bad habit of playing with my mouthpiece pretty low...so the top of my upper lip shows up.
Any way to fix this bad habit?

A long shot. Do you hold the trumpet straight out?

I hold the trumpet at a downward angle, so it's not straighout out.

My first thought raise your music stand 6 to 12 inches.

Next with your lips closed normally and relaxed take a photo in a mirror where you can see the camera held on your shoulder and then take 2nd picture one with your mouthpiece placed centered on your lips. Post these two photos on photobucket or other and insert their references on TM for others to analyse. A third picture with your mouthpiece held as you write about would be extra helpful.

Is it having an effect on your playing?

From your photos with your mouthpiece I think you have nothing to worry about, the aperture would be very close to the center of the mouthpiece. Is this the most comfortable position for the mouthpiece? If so, do not change. Just my thoughts.

    Regards, Stuart.

As long as you're comfortable playing like that, don't change.
