Hiya all... I spent some time today working on some tracks for a band that I'm working with, and while I can't post any of that stuff, I thought I would record a ballad or two to share with everyone.

First up is "My Funny Valentine" - I played along with an Aebersold accompaniment on my Olds Super. I am using the Soulo mute on this track, with a hankie stuffed inside of it. Live, it sounds really dead to me (from behind the horn), but on the recording it really darkens my sound.

Man, I love this Olds trumpet. It has such a dense sound. Anyway, enjoy, and please share your thoughts. I faded the track out before the solo section to avoid further embarrassment :p . Recorded on Garageband for Mac.

Almost a trombone like sound! You need to work on pitch a bit, you are tending flat. Otherwise, not too shabby.

    Hi Bwannabrass (BWB),

The second clip you sounded more relaxed. Very nice.

Nice! Great sound with the Soulo. I like the clip with the band (The Night) too.

Pretty cool ... I always enjoy it when members post clips of themselves playing. That sure is a trombone vibratto ...
    thanks for posting!

Great tone and styling. Bending into a note is a nice touch but don't do it too much. Your scoops into your A from a G got a little overdone.
