    Hey guys,

I mentioned in my embouchure thread that I had some air pockets when playing high notes in my lower lip and sometimes upper. I have been practicing softly and now it seems as if the lower left corner is the only part of my embouchure that has the air pocket. It doesn't only happen with higher notes though sometimes just notes on the staff. Any other tips to 'tighten' up or strengthen that part of my embouchure?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Peter

try making the corners of your mouth "firmer". Lip Slurs are very good for this. If you have an Arban's book go to page 42. After you have warmed up, start with exercise # 17. Start slowly, stop and rest as needed. When you can play it though without stopping and at the marked tempo, go to the next exercise. If you are doing it right, the upper note should "pop" out cleanly. When you get to exercise #22 you will have very firm corners and your air pockets should be gone. Let me know how it goes.
