I was privileged to go to a Cape Town Philharmonic concert last night, with pint-sized 18-year-old French trumpet player Lucienne Renaudin Vary playing the Hummel (on a B-flat trumpet), with a transcription of a Rachmaninoff song thrown in as a bonus. Having seen some of her performances on Youtube, I'd gone expecting to think: not bad for an 18-year old. But I was blown away. She performed the concerto with almost flawless technique and amazing musicality (and wow, what a refined, beautiful tone). Totally nailed it. Here's one to watch for the future. What the heck, here's one to watch now already.

So she's a Stomvi artist? I was wondering about the instrument.

Not taking anything away from Stomvi, but I think she could make any brand sound great.

I'm sure she would, I was just wondering what she played because I couldn't identify the trumpet from where I sat.

Yes she is a Stomvi artist and a wonderful young player.
George B we would be happy if you took something away from us. As a matter of fact we believe you would be quite happy too.

    Best, Jon
