    Any New Years Trumpet Resolutions?

Any change-up to break the monotony of the standard practice routine. Trying the new Insanity Trumpet workout. LOL

What are your 2013 goals and what are you doing to get there?

I've got two: (1) have 50 standards memorized by the end of the year, and (2) hit a certain high note (the identity of which I'm not going to divulge on this forum ;-) ) loud, clear, and musically in a live performance by the end of the year.

My trumpet resolution is to keep practicing, so I can eventually get back to playing at the professional level. That includes dragging my fat self back into the gym, because if my body's in better shape, I'll be a better trumpet player!!

I asked my trumpet if it had any resolutions for the new year………it wants to go on the road……again……I said, will you EVER learn ? It just gave me that “Deer in the headlights look “ and emptied it’s water keys…….on my foot….. I’m doomed…..Freakin Kanstuls anyway......

Getting a pic of me playing my Kanstul 1526 flugelhorn on the Kanstul website... sharing space with my teacher, Claudio Roditi... How special that would be.

    Resolutions for 2013:
    $$$$
    1.) Buy a picc
2.) Buy a second Flugel with a smaller bore (current Flugel has a .460 bore)
    3.) Restore my Recording
4.) Valve alignment on my Super/Strad Frankenhorn
    Actual playing goals
    5.) Play REGULARLY
6.) Develop range to accurate consistent dependable second A above treble staff
7.) Play more by ear in the concert keys of E, A, and B

(I think some of these may be revisited next year)

I will echo Dave's resolution and add this: back way off from fiddling with gear and focus more on music theory and becoming a competent all-round musician.
