hey guys, i came across the email from the admin about the Dillon Music contest and i realized that i'm actually rather clueless about some stuff here.
"1st Prize: A standard model Bb or C Bach Stradivarius trumpet in lacquered brass or silver plated finish customized by the Bach Custom Shop at Dillon Music. "
i read in forums that there are different lead pipe sizes, bell sizes, plating, mouthpiece sizes and such for a trumpet, what differences do they make? how important are these stuff? what about the different brands? ;-)

    cheers!

    Hi lovelax!

The differences are important, otherwise there would be just one trumpet made. They affect the feel and sound and response and with trim kits and plating, the chick-magnet-effect. Do some research at the Bach site and check out their trumpet forum. Not as cool as ours (as most Vulgano Brother posts have been deleted there--sad but true!) but most all Bach trumpet-geek questions have already been answered.

When you're done, hang out here.

    Have fun!

I found a real nice chick magnet in the drawer.
