off days?

    When ever you have an "off" day, don't push your practice session. Play softly and rest often, then put the horn away, you should feel better the next day.

    David Hickman did a clinic at the Rocky Mountain Trumpetfest last year and I asked him about off days. He just said work up to playing for 5 hours a day and after that you stop having bad days :thumbsup:

    Hi Guy,
    I'm not one who suffers from these (thankfully!) but one particular colleague of mine that does says that yes, stress is probably the #1 contributor. After that comes sleep depravation (possibly stress releated?), and then diet. Apparently, garlic, chocolate, and bananas are the two worst offenders in the case of my colleague. Maybe other sufferers of herpetic lip sores have also had similar experiences?
