I played for a graduation last night with a brass quintet. At the last minute we decided to play trumpet voluntary for the procession. The format was AA-BB-CC-AA

we agreed that if we needed more music we would go back to the top after the C section. We thought 2 times should be plenty.

After the third time threw, the guy playing second realized that I was in trouble so he played my part. After he came in we started trading off.

We must have played the thing 25 times.

I'm glad you had a good guy playing 2nd that recognized the problem.

It seems you worked it out well.

    I feel your pain.

Reminds me of the first graduation ceremony I played as a H.S. kid. After having played other features, we ended by played "Crown Imperial" without a cut (I was on the 1st part), as the graduates filed down to get their diplomas. It was a big class and they took their time.

When we finally hit the last blastissimo chords and my chops were ready for intensive care, I wish I could've had a photo of the look on my face when the conductor signaled a repeat back to the beginning! :shhh:

Just played this at my (now former) college president's inauguration. Not a lot of fun to repeat

I went to the wedding of the century. Was figuring on it being long and boring. 12 MINUTES!!!! That's my kind of wedding. I was outta there before you got through the M's. Glad it worked out.
