Pay For Play

    I know the words to that song, wait a minute I think I wrote the words to that song.

    Seriously though, I had a widow give me a check for $50 for sounding TAPS at her husbands funeral, I gave it back to her and told her it was my privilege to do the honors.

    I like that idea, next time I will put that option in the equation because I guess each situation could be different.

    Your playing is only worth what people are willing to pay ;-) I enjoy playing in small ensembles, so I try to do that as much as I can. I've heard from people french horn soloists get more then trumpet soloists though. I have no idea whether it's true.. :-?

    I was paid $85 for playing four notes on a commercial one time.

    Last Xmas, I played a coporate party for the company I work for. I Paid nearly $1600.00, when all was said and done, for the other musicians, moving gear, renting a P.A........ Never, NEVER again.

    I played a musical one time, and counting all the rehearsals and performances, I was paid $.05 per page of music I played...:lol:
