Definitely not as good as I expected.

At the moment, I am recording his examples, extending each example to twice its length and this Monday I will be checking the accuracy of his evaluation.

Several I gauged as the same pitch!

I will let you know as soon as I have some time to check it.

I have to now get ready for a dixieland job on trombone and tomorrow I have an Branson Arts Council concert with my trumpet ensemble.

We started the dixieland band last month and now were are playing Friday and Saturday nights at one club and Sunday afternoons at another. So much for being retired.

While I do not have perfect pitch, I thrive on relative. It provides a scaffolding on which I build improvisation. Much of it is sung notes around the relative harmonic I choose to use as a foundation. Oh yes, there are inserted phrases, but mostly singing patterns into the horn that incorporate the pitches that are relative to the sounds defining the basic theme.

    3.3 Hz...
But I had the TV going and watching it while doing it... maybe try again later.

    Good test.
