Petroleum Jelly on Slides?

    I use Vicks Vapo-Rub. Vasoline seems to get dirty and gummy after a bit but the
    Vicks stays clean.

    Vicks - Are you sure? The fumes from the balm would drive me crazy.:-? The smell of the eucalyptus would attract a lot of drop-bears.ROFL

    for my slides I use three in oil or a form of bicycle oil

    A couple of the professional trombonists I know swear by Dove face cream for their slides. No, seriously - hah, didn't think I could be serious, eh? ;-)

    if your going to buy pertoleum jelly why not just buy slide oil? Probably cheaper to get the oil.
