I am checking out Phaeton Tumpets and Flugelhorns. Any information about them would be very helpful and appreciated. :play: :-)

They really are just marketing gimmicks (weighted valves caps, heavy mouthpiece receiver, short valve stroke, etc), and I think they're realistically only worth 1200 new. However, they seem to play reasonably well from what I've heard and read, but aren't the end all. I suggest trying one if you can, before you buy.

Thanks Mark! I can get the Phaeton for about $800.00. I'm also looking at CarolBrass. I'm impressed with the quality for the money. I can get the satin finish for a very good price, about $1200.00. The dealer is giving me a good deal on a close out trumpet. It's last years model. The only differance is that it has the old name on it.

    Thanks again for the input.
