pitch finder

    I saw a bach/Laskey C trumpet on Ebay with "pitch Finder" Anyone know about this feature???? jim

    It's a lever that moves the main tuning slide (for intonation adjustments). I once saw a picture of Charlie Geyer using a horn with a lever just like in the picture.

    One of my teachers had one, but it was a different design than in that ebay ad. "Pitch Finder" was a brand name, as far as I know, so either that one in the picture is a new design or it's made by someone else. Not that it matters, it still does the same thing.

    In March, I was fortunate enough to sit in the Evanston, Il. orchestra with Charlie Geyer as an emergency sub for the principal. He does have a pitch finder on his C trumpet and remarked to me that he felt it was one of the best inventions for a trumpet in many years.
    It was quite an thrill to sit in the same section with him. He is most assuredly a world class player and is a great guy as well.
