I prefer the video of Alison Balsom telling me how nice the plastic trumpet is. If it was lots cheaper I'd buy one for my 3 year old granddaughter.

That's the goal. Maybe once they recoup their investment, the price will come down.

The goal is to reduce the need for skilled labor. Precision molded plastic parts are cheap and any factory worker can learn in a short period of time how not to waste glue. Should be the most consistent way to build something that looks like a trumpet.

    What comes immediately to mind:

    As sung by Pete Seeger:

    Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
    Little boxes on the hillside,
    Little boxes all the same,
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue on and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look the same.

And the people in the houses
    All went to the university
Where they were but in boxes
And they came out all the same
    And there's doctors and lawyers
    And business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf course
    And drink their martinis dry
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school,
And the children go to summer camp
    And then to the university
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same.

And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same,
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

So now you're against the pTrumpet?? I don't ever see it replacing professional horns. Although Jon Dante's video was pretty impressive. Still only see this as a student entry level horn. I don't disagree with your skilled labor assessment, but most of the horns this will compete with aren't made by artisans anyway! ;-)

He gives a pretty good summation in 1:25 minutes.
