Playing certain notes fast

    Playing fast is the same as playing slow, just the time you spend on the duration of each note is shorter. With that in mind I get my students to take everything SUPER-SLOW and bang the valves hard and fast (lift up fingers high ala CG). It's kind of hard to do at first. Keep doing this daily for a few days / week and don't get faster.
    In a week test how fast you can play it then.

    The problem with fast arpeggios occurs when our breathing is not under control. Then we have to adjust the face/tongue/breath for each note.

    I normally have the student slur the intervals first to guarantee absolute rhythm and breathing, then another exercize of double tonguing the middle note very precisely. Once both work, it is a simple matter of "adding" the pre-trained tongue to the pre-trained intervals.
