playing sharper the higher i play

    oh, ok, i have also been looking the high register section of the vizzutti book that ive got and alot of the excersises are very loud low playing then PP high stuff, so ive been also trying to do that, il get there eventually :)

    YUes, you are technically correct, yet it seems to me that often players will feel they need this large volume of air to generate the compression required to play n the upper register, even though they likely (hopefully!) do not actually expel most of it. It also seems to me that learning to generate the required compression from a smaller quantity of air is a somewhat advanced technique that comes further down the road once players start to come to terms with how they generate compression.

    True. Efficient embouchure and breathing comes with diligent practice, intelligent guidance and yes, it takes some time actually to get there.
