    Hello my fellow Trumpers

I have a question about SLURS

When I practice my slurs I get a snap, crack or pop, wondering what I am doing incorrectly to make smooth transitions as I slur.

Example: I will slur from C, G, C, E, however from my C to E I get this popping noise.
This happens only when I ascending

So I figure I must be doing something wrong.

Any advice? or am I just strange LOL

    Thanks

As long as you are getting a big breath and not twisting your face to slur, all you need is enough repetitions to get everything clean.

The secret is repetitions. That is the way we build habits and patterns. Success is hard work and anyone claiming instant better has no grip on reality. There are so many methods that work and so much margin for error. Getting stuck on some magic just slows us down elsewhere.

If you have a teacher, it is their job to analyse first hand. If you are a DIYourselfer, pray that you get lucky.

Does the "popping" come from the note "locking in?" If so, it is a good thing; to be cultivated. If an extra noise, then it is a no-no.

Yes it is always when the note locks in, it only happens on the last note of a slur.

    Never any extra noise
