Who were the leading studio/commercial trumpet players in London in the 1950's and early 60's? I know of Stan Roderick, Bob Pratt, Kenny Baker, Derek Healey and I think a guy called Stan Newsome. Also, who played lead on the Goon Show.
    Peter Salt.

Hi Peter, I'll have to get some help with this one but luckily I'm spending the next two days working with some guys who will really know about this: Henry Lowther, who is like a walking encyclopaedia, and John Dankworth, who generated a fair amount of studio work himself.
I'll enlist their help to come up with a kind of family tree and get back to you on Friday.
Thanks for the homework assignment :).
    Noel.
