Practicing Scales WITHOUT trumpet

    That's exactly why I bought my (Carol) pocket trumpet. Then I realised I was in Texas where I'd fry before I could finish my warm-up routine! :bash:

    (it's either that or keep running the car AC and at the cost of gasoline . . . )

    I didn't read the thread so maybe this was mentioned, and this isn't a replacement for actually playing them, but you can just tap your fingers on your leg. Advantage to this is that you can do it anywhere that you don't need to be present mentally - in the car at a stop light, waiting in line somewhere, etc.

    I know what you mean. I usually play early in the morning at work in the parking garage. So it's not too hot.
