    I think that the moral of the story is something that we experience every day: life is not fair! Many people in decision making positions get there with elbows. Others with superior work ethic, others with talent, yet others get the road paved by money.... Many never get to make decisions at work - not because they are untalented, poor, or have sponge rubber elbows. Life simply was not fair.

    Is not playing trumpet seriously a "decision making position"? Attitude is the ONLY way.

    I like the aircraft definition of attitude--the direction one leans. If our attitude leads us to lean towards trumpet, we will find a way to practice. If we lean away from practice, we lean away from the trumpet.

    Yup, it takes a lot of practice to carve a wonderful cabinet like this. Almost as much practice as a trumpet player needs..........
