If we have a solid base for our playing, rhythm NEVER suffers through nerves. Intonation NEVER suffers in our standard playing range. We chip notes, nothing comes out at all, breathing gets out of sync, train wreck - NEVER rhythm or intonation.

This players premise is an EXCUSE not a symptom.

We need to make many things second nature. Breathing first and foremost. That suffers immediately with nerves! Solution: mark the breathing marks into the score and practice with them. Learn to breathe regularly and do not change the strategy when we have "issues". Practice with a metronome until we have a "feeling" for pulse. Continually check if our feeling matches reality.
