Is a Bach TR 300 worth it. There's one for 465 on Ebay.
    Or should I get a Yamaha 2320?

    thanks

I dont know about the TR300 but I played a TR200S for six years when I first started and thought that it was an excellent trumpet.

A TR300, is a very good student horn, I don't know about buying it used for $456 though, usually there are some on there for about $300 or less. But yes, I have tried it before and they are very good horns.:-)

I'm not a big fan of either student horn. Keep your present horn for a while longer and put the $500 towards a used Strad. You're only $200 - $300 away...

I love my used TR300, but paid $300 for it. (And replaced the springs, etc. - I'm probably up to $350 with all that.)

First, the TR300 is an excellent STUDENT trumpet for the first out beginning student. I will last you into high school, and depending on your ambitions and level of playing, you will want to trade up to an upper grade horn.

As for the price, this has many variables. First, how old is it, what condition is it in, does it come with a mouthpiece and case? A newer TR300 in excellent condition will bring between $300 to $500 on eBay. Besure you can return it if it does not meet your standards or the profile was not represented correctly. Buying a beginner trumpet over the internet is sometimes like gambling...you never know what you are going to get.

500? You're lucky if you can get find a good one for 500. 565 is the cheapest I've ever seen. Most don't go for below 700.

I'm pretty sure he meant that with nearly $500 already, he'd only need another $200 or $300.

    500 + 200 = 700

    500 + 300 = 800
