I have inventory now or I would buy the Schilke. $900 is very good. I do love the horn. I used to have a B6 before my Committee.

The Strad is "mint" condition with dings?

I haven't looked, but are y'all sure that the B6's serial number doesn't put it in the infamous 80s Yamalloy period for valves? Just a thought. I too played a long time on a B6 and before that a Committee. I am not sure I would trade my B6L for either one.

What is that? When Yamaha and Schilke were kinda together and they used Yamaha valves?

Yep. I had a Schilke MII that I found in a thrift store for 250.00. It sounded great but the valves would hang without warning or reason. Couldn't afford to have them replated. Sold it. Director didn't care whether it was my fault or not, just wanted the part played cleanly.

I don't believe any other Schilke horns had those valves except the M series, though. I think the B series was strictly Schilke

My Yamaha was made in the 80's. Does that mean that it had Yamaha valves too?? ROFL

A quick check of The Schilke Loyalist will give you chapter and verse on the Yamalloy curse. My dates were off. The site suggests the 10 years from 1972-82.

None of the B model Schilkes were Yamalloy. B's are strictly 100% professional along with S22 and current. MII was an attempt at student business. Warning: Do not use B6 and Yamalloy in the same sentence. The ad was updated today I noticed. Maybe the guy needs cash now.
