Sounds to me like you are stressed out. Relax, do breathing exercises, tell yourself you know you can do it. Play as if this is your last moments on this mortal earth and this is the legacy you wish to leave. The once finishing your performance, appreciate the reality that life is good.
If all this does not work for you, then bring a paper bag and breath heavily in it just prior to your audition. The CO2 rush is awesome!
+1! I would also play long tones and try to make them as even as possible. Then just chill.
yep... stress and probably dehydrated..
Robin suggest 20 minute hot baths before playing... I have never tried it but if ever there was a time...
Find your favorite axiom ....let go and let God.. Use the Force Luke.... get yourself out of the way of yourself...
You may have over-trained. Rest the day before auditions, drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep!
Hot bath, then long tones, then slurs. Keep your DAILY ROUTINE. Your psychological make up is also being auditioned. No one needs a player that falls apart under pressure.
I do not recommend changing anything the week before an audition. We are creatures of HABIT. Experiments only serve to destroy what we have learned.
applause///////// .. let us know how it went
