I can't believe nobody has mentioned this yet! In the future: Rest is great. Play softly at the bottom of the natural register. Play single and double pedals. Its kind of a lip massage. Good luck.

Grin and bear it. You would be taking a GREAT risk by changing anything that you haven't been doing all along. The judges are smart enough to see that you have braces and hear your talent.
I will question the common sense of having beaten up your face so close to an audition though.........
Not if it's a blind audition
Yeah, I usually take a day off before an audition/concert if possible.
