Right or Wrong Embouchure

    Embouchure is the least of your concerns.

    You do not HAVE to take over anything

    Playing lead means that your number one reponsibility is TIMING, then style, then superior breath support. The embouchure will follow. If your timing and style stink, then you are playing AGAINST the music and everyone suffers. What real lead players do differently is body use and breathing. I have not found a way to adequately describe this on the internet, in a lesson it takes a couple of minutes.

    I've had students with the same problem. It was usually caused by them not using enough breath support on the low or soft notes when going from either high to low,or loud to soft. Because those notes are relatively easier than the ones before it,they think they don't have still support those notes with their air.
