I seem to favor the playing feel of such leadpipes. Not long after I bought the Vocabell I bought a New York Trumpet Company Stage 1 Magnum Bb (I think I got all that straight) -- very nearly a modern Vocabell, with a sleeved leadpipe and a beadless bell. I adored that trumpet, but soon after I bought it my playing became almost exclusively big band lead and I wanted a more focused projection pattern than I felt the beadless copper bell could give me. I tried several other trumpets but ended up playing a Getzen Genesis, once again with the sleeved leadpipe concept.
