    I haven't heard anything about whether we'll be doing something special for Doc when he turns the big eight-oh. I can't imagine we won't, though.

    when I was a mere young-un I thought a good trumpet player was one who could play high and fast. yesterday I put on a cd that I haven't played for years [Trumpet Spectacular with Doc and the Cinn. Pops] and that man literally sings through the horn. now that is a true musician. Kudos to Doc. Dave :D

    I think Doc is a real inspiration. He still plays great after so many years, and is a real class act who still talks to every kid after every concert he plays. It was a real pleasure playing with him when I was in Denver. Tony is one of my personal heroes. He's a true Renaissance man, and you won't meet a nicer guy.
