So, at the end of JUNE, my 18 year old son and I are going on a big roadtrip.

DC - Indianapolis - Winnipeg - and west to ANCHORAGE Alaska.
I'll log in here as I can to share the progress.

I bought a BEST BRASS practice mute for practice in the car and hotel rooms. Long notes and lip slurs will be my best friend for a little while :-)
If anyone in Canada wants to grab a cup of coffe during the trip, let me know.

If you make it up to Fairbanks Alaska I'd play some trumpet with ya' bub!

Sounds like you may be going through Dayton, OH to get from DC to Indianapolis. If you get a chance for a brief stop in Dayton, give old gmonady a ring, and I can set you straight on all the right things to do for the trumpet... or provide a sports or college entry physical for you son... what ever the occasion may bring.

fraserhutch - I know, it's rediculous to think that someone that happens to be along the route just happens to online here.... but you never know if you dont put it out there :-)

gmonady - thanks! we ususally push straight through to Indy. But if we stop in Dayton - I'll give you a shout. Play a duet - swap trumpet playing stories..... (blown out of proportion of course)...

It's just funny that you said "any one in Canada" :)

If you're taking I-94, you're driving right past me in the Milwaukee area. Take the bypass (I-894), by the way!

By the time you enter Canada you will be more than three times further from me than you are right now. I've always wanted to "get my kicks" on the Alaska Highway (doesn't rhyme so well though). Have a great trip. Say hi to Sarah while you're up there. Maybe play her a little tune.
