What should I practice precisely? I will be getting my hands on an Arban's within the next week.

What should I do to build confidence? I know I can play well; I do it alone. How can I do well in front of others better?

Don't play for them, play for you.

Practice and DNA. With the right latter, and lots of practice, you'll outplay Maynard.

Arban's is about as good as, if not better than, most others for source development. Wore out my first copy and now have premium edition in my library that I still often refer to for practice routines. Extreme health and dental issues have presently halted all my playing.

Make sure you have a teacher and structure your practice, ie 15 mins warm up, 45mins aurban, 15mins lip slurs, half hour rest, half hour scales, half hour tunes/sight reading

... and if you can't find that sort of time, then your advancement will just be slower, but practice cleverly and advance you will - search for joy in your playing - it's not called playing for no reason. :play:

you also need to learn to listen and learn to play musically, kind of like your using your trumpet as your voice and you are singing.
