Going by short memory here so bear with me. In a music store recently and they pulled out two horns on consignment. One was a Selmer Paris trumpet (all the writing in French and the pinkie ring on the bottom) appears to be in pretty good condition - normal finish wear. Did not get serial number to determine age. Other was a quick glance at a Olds (I think) cornet that was from the 40's and appeared to be in VG condition. Think the tag said Contempora or something close to that. Sorry about the vague info but any thoughts on these instruments? Asking price was $800 each.
Thanks - will try to get more specific info on them (serial numbers) later.

    update info

Found out a bit more on the horns mentioned above. Turns out the cornet was mis-described. It is actually an Olds Opera cornet dated 1961. Usual finish wear but nothing serious ding-wise. Seems like the asking price of 800 is way high - The trumpet is a Fr. Besson Brevette serial 16076. Have not determined age yet. Again, finish kinda rough but valves and slides VG. Same asking price. Anyone have info on that era Bessons?
    Thanks
