small hand ..thin fingers... third valve ring issue... suggestions please

    It would be quite simple to use some half-round cross section rod to create an open ring with a long base like the ones on my Baumann C trumpet

    I'll try to post a pic of my grip - I'm a small person - 5' 31/2", and my fingers are small - ring size 5. With this grip I can use both 1st and 3rd valve slides at the same time with no problems, and no mods to my horn. Took some practice to get used to it, but I've used this grip successfully for about 17 or 18 years. Middle finger in the ring, thumb in the first saddle, weight of horn rests on middle joint of my ring finger. It has created a large callous on my ring finger over the years, but all the mobility I need and no adverse effects. Middle finger gives me a lot more power and control than ring finger or pinky.
