I am taking a trumpet pedagogy class this semester in college. For my first assignment I am supposed to find a list of solo rep. by grade level (the more sources the better) However, after doing several different google searches, all I could find was places selling music and they were sorted by alphabetical order, not by grade levels, and a lot of them were multi-solo etude books. Can anyone help me locate, or point me in the direction of a reputable list of solos by grade level? (I know that most state school systems have these lists somewhere for the purpose of Solo/Ensemble, but i can't seem to find them)

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Go to smartmusic.com search...Find music in the SmartMusic repertoire includes over 30,000 music titles
    Select Trumpet...
    Leave "Level" as "Any Level"...
Select Title or Composor or leave blank for all...
    Click find...
You will see a list of returned titles. In my case I searched on Mozart. Select the title you are interested in and click on it. You will see all grade levels by individual state like this....

Check out the state solo festival lists, I know Wisconsin has one (although a bit limited and out of touch with reality) Texas and New York also have lists. You can access wisconsin through the Wisconsin School Music Association.

I just noticed that SmartMusic added a new feature...........

NEW - Search for state approved contest solos and ensembles in SmartMusic.

Fourteen states are listed. My search on Georgia yielded 45 titles, New York 64. Save the results as text file and sort using unix tools such as grep/sort.:play:

According to the GMEA handbook, which is readily available on the GMEA website, Georgia Solo and Ensemble contest solo grading is based on the Texas and Florida Music Educators lists. Both of which I assume are posted on their respective websites.

I know NY also has an extensive list, which should be on their website. NYSSMA, or something like that.
