I just posted one of the wierder tunes I've done in a while. I realize that my stuff is probably not going to be to the taste of the educated crowd here, but I offer it fwiiw. This new tune is a bit of an ambient/electronic thing. The track comments are below.

As to the tune: I start off pretty wierd with ambient samples and slide cornet (an old Getzen). It then drifts into a very modest easy groove, knda dark with more samples, Alessis QS8.1 tracks keyed in real time and flugel solo. There is a brief interlude with an annoying harmon muted trumpet as a prelude of things to come. The groove hardens, heavy bass and a huge quartel stack on a tone row, with screaming trumpets ensues. It is at its darkest here. Then the whole process unravels back into the erie free thing and slide cornets for a more spiritual finish. As to the title and ideas evoked here, I leave that primarily to the listener. All I'll say is that, it starts off hopeful, drifts into darkness and even frightened confusion only to come out on the other side, hopeful. Love and hope always win, in the long run. -->>Peace, all.

Very nice playing Nick! I don't think this stuff is weird at all. A little different but not even that different to my ear. Very musical and a nice display of chops in there. I really like the slide trumpet work, kinda plays with your mind a bit.

Well, if you would please go check out my weird stuff and let me know what you think. I do a lot of singing but if you listen thru you will hear some cool (atleast i think so) trumpet work.
