"Softly as in a mornings sunrise". Been playing this song for a while now and finally have it nailed! Just need to learn to improv over it now.

working on some "church" music -- as I want to make a new CD for some friends (want to have my "power" trumpet CD loud, bold and beautiful sound, if I can make it that way) --- also working on "somewhere over the rainbow", Rocky Theme, and National Anthem -- trying to pump them up to the highest range (and, of course -- make them sound good and be reproducible at that level) ---

practiced softly for many years on a comeback -- but am finding "new life" in my horn by amping things up a bit!!!!!!!!

some show tunes for corporate band for our next concert next month and then some various jazz playalongs like Summertime, Watermelon man, etc. I've still been learning / working on improvisation. Need to get back into my 'church' band, but everyone got too busy and we sort of fizzled, so I might have to find a solo to perform.

    All EBQ tunes...

Why... 'Cause Eddie, our fearless leader called these tunes out for our rehearsal today.

    We also played:
    I'll Remember April
Daahoud (At 320 bpm and we play the bridge in 3/4)
    Stable Mates
Ornathology (I play How High the Moon in the background)

-Haydn's trumpet concerto (mainly cleaning up the 1st movement)
-Carnival of Venise, trying to get that last variation's accents cleared up.
-Quintet in B Minor by Ewald (3d movement) for solo and ensemble.
-Contrapunctus 1, also for solo and ensemble contest.

Havn't worked on any of my marching show, though I should. I like classical stuff better.
