Sop Passes Out - theMouthPiece.com
"Play the last note for me", what a great line!
It would be interesting to know what happened, tunnel vision then out, hydration, exhaustion, locking the knees while standing up..............
This shouldn't happen.
I am guessing a mixture of dehydration (if the band was playing late in the day and it was a young person because bands drink like fish and if you aren't on the booze you will be on the coca cola which is a diuretic) and possibly nerves causing him not to breath properly. Its soprano cornet and that can be a bit of a challenge if your breathing is not quite right. He may have not been expelling enough of the co2 out of his lungs but still breathing in.
The Evil Dr. Valsalva strikes again, does that villain know no shame??
Soprano Cornet is a fun gig, but tough! I played that book in a brass band for a season...and that was enough. I never passed out, but sometimes I wished I could!
