WOW... They have 5,284 ACTIVE MEMBERS! Another 1,000 or so and THEY may have enough energy to overtake the power equivalent of the 800 or so trumpet players on TM. The END of the balance to the Universe as we know it.

Back in my band days, we used to sneak into the band room early so we could replace the reeds of the more egostistical players (oddly enough, mostly alto sax guys who had aspirations to play the soprano, aka golden clarinet) with ones soaked in Tabasco.

They usually paid us back with Anbesol. Fortunately enough for us, it was cheaper to replace a reed than a trumpet mouthpiece.

Not surprised as I am guessing they have an ample supply of this for their own personal use.

I'm feelin' it, Doc. I'm feelin' it!
It is the [utimate] feeling to be the object of a thread without even posting anything.

Long distance, absent thread hijack. YES! :-P

It's true, Dupac ... But I've worked through the red slippers and now I'm playing in PF Flyer tennis shoes.

And to the OP ... Forget sound dampening in the home. Build a shed. Nothing promotes shedding like a real shed (we had "The Shed Guys" build it). Finish the interior, and soundproof to taste. It should only cost you about 2/3 of an older used Monette trumpet. :-)

Everytime I hear the term "dampening" in the context of structure, I wince with the thought of mold and mildew. Isn't the technology to eliminate sound conductance through structures called "soundproofing"?

PM me Turtle on updates in Oregon!
