I was in the music store the other day and saw the St. Jacome book.

I have heard people talk about it but never saw it before. When I looked through it, it looked just like Arban so, I didn't buy it.

What's in there that I'm missing?

While there's some similarity, as there is with most methods, there's enough difference in both content and approach that, as cited in this link, Herbert L. Clarke thought they complemented each other:

    Well-known Soloists Sa-Sl

That site is well worth exploring.

St. Jacome was the beginning of the velocity studies. The whole book is patterns, patterns, patterns, plus AWESOME duets.

    I highly recommend it!
